Who recalls the Center or

The Strand or the Muisic Hall Half way back in the century

d note that the current exhibit of Slater Mill shows the bridge over the main st dam- I think the Main St bridge had the Strand on the bridge-over the top or was it the Music Hall?

The Music Hall was on the north side of Main Street west of East Avenue/High Street, where Peerless was located pre-1970. The Strand was on East Avenue immediately south of Slater Trust. The Loew's Capitol/Center Theatre may have been the one on the bridge.

Interesting as we imagine all these theaters that once were and now we have none to share...Maybe the mini theaters might be a return...and certainly the film festival for the Pawtucket Arts Festival in September might give good times to chat about them...

Incidentally, the long-gone Globe Theatre was located at 175 Main Street, right where our humble Visitors Center Theatre now sits.
