El Dorado

We are working diligently toward aquiring a Low Powered FM FCC Radio License to service the surrounding neighborhoods. We are waiting for the FCC to announce the next filing window.

In the next few weeks we will also install a Low Power AM Microstation that will enable us to broadcast across the neighborhood. Anticipated coverage will be approximately 2 miles from the transmitter site. The frequency will be 1680 Khz AM.

Plans are to ''go-live'' and invite guests from the surrounding neighborhoods to participate in the broadcasts.

We feature royalty free / publically licensed content and have a wide variety of programming.

The overarching mission is to provide emergency relief to the neighborhood during times of bad weather or disaster.

We are currently looking for original content to run royalty-free on our station. Email us from the site for consideration.

An interesting idea. Will you be handling all broadcasts/content? From your home. Sounds like a lot of work, but I hope you succeed.

I will be handling programming and content from my home studio, but a microstation operation it is not that intense.

I currently run Windows 2003 Server and Media Services through which I stream the content on the Internet.

I will eventually use automation software, mic, mixer and audio enhancement on my workstation to broadcast in real time across the studio to the server and transmitter.

Music content is all royalty free. I used to play music professionally and am connected in the area with local musicians. I am accepting material from local bands to air. I have gotten good response thusfar.

I may also air old time radio theater programming on a scheduled basis.

I plan on a partial talk format as well. For example, we could do an on-the-air/ Internet streaming, monthly version of the El Dorado Sunburst Newsletter.

I just finished the winding the loading coil for the antenna and will finish up on the antenna construction today(Oct 12th) according to Part 15 FCC requirments.

Sometime in the next couple of weeks I will complete the antenna and ground system and order the transmitter.
