About our association

Our Mission

The Mission of the District 6 Planning Council is both organizational and educational. We strive to ensure citizen input into city government by providing neighborhood forums and initiating programs/projects designed exclusively in the areas of crime prevention, land use, youth and community outreach in order to address problems and issues of concern to residents and business owners in District 6.

Board Meetings

The Planning Council usually meets the 1st Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The Board of Directors are responsible for carrying out the mission of the District Council.

Land Use Task Force and Community Code

The Land Use Task Force usually meets the 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The Land Use Task Force focuses on issues pertaining to utilization of land including but not limited to zoning, licensing and public improvements.
Community Code Enforcement Committee works in an advisory capacity to encourage residential and commercial property owners to improve or maintain their property through compliance with municipal code regulations.
