Hopefully all have noticed the demolished brick mailbox on St. Philip that was caused by a speeder. Right after the ''accident'' the skid marks could clearly be seen where the driver attempted to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting such a formidable target. Has anyone thought of speed bumps down the main drag to discourage the lead foots among us?

While speeding continues to be a problem, there have been several issues Davies residents have had a say in such as sidewalks and streetlights.Im unsure if speed bumps were brought up. These additions to our neighborhood are usually rejected because they distract from the old feel of the neighborhood.

DPHA discussed speed calming devices with Bartlett for the past 3 years. It is Mayor Keith McDonalds position that they create too much liability for the city of Bartlett. Therefore, they will not put speed calming devices on city streets. They do place them on their park streets which seems somewhat contradictory. Government at work.
