question/status of subdivision

Posted in: Woodlands
Has anyone noticed
that the homes/landscaping and overall look in the Oakmont and Copperfield subdivisions (probably 1-2 miles away) is much better than that found in the Woodlands? Is it simply a matter of personal income/wealth or are the homeowners in these areas different from those in the Woodlands (take pride in their subdivision and want it to be the best possible). Does having a Brentwood address really influence the way people look and keep up/improve their homes? Compared to these neighborhoods, which I think would be designated as middle to upper middle class just looking at the homes, the Woodlands really looks lower middle class.

Status of subdivision

Anonymous,
There are lots of reasons why Oakmont and Copperfield look better than The Woodlands. First, the houses in those subdivisions far superior to the ones here.

A prime builder in Oakmont is Prestige Homes. That outfit builds The Jennifer, a 3000+ square foot, single story all-brick home that I covet. I dunno who built Copperfield, but all the homes there that I've been in appear to be well built.

My home in the Woodlands, along with others here, was built by Richter Dial. Numerous houses in this complex were constructed by Westminster Homes. No houses by Richter Dial or Westminster Homes are in Oakmont or Copperfield.

More on subdivisions

We have a front gate, a gazebo and lots of common property. Our association fee is about $175.00 per year.

Copperfield has a front gate, a rear gate, 4 gazebos, 3 fountains , a tennis court or two, about a mile of walking trails, and lots of common area. Their association fee is $540.00 per year. I remember the Copperfield amenities from back in 1985. Possibly the developer installed them. I dunno.

Sorry, Anonymous, but I don't know much about Oakmont. They seem to have a front entrance, a little common area, and not much else. I have no idea how big their Association fee is.
