#5. Vehicle Licenses. Many residents conducts this business through the mail, but not everyone does. If a Broomfield residents need to pick up a vehicle license, they must travel to Boulder, Brighton, Golden, or Greeley. With the City and County of Broomfield, all Broomfield citizes will be able to obtain vehicle licenses at the Broomfield Municipal Center.

#6. Patrol Time for Police Officers and Location of Courts. Currently, Broomfield's police officers must travel to Boulder, Brighton, Golden, or Greeley to transport prisoners and to testify at county courts or district courts. With the City and County of Broomfield, the municipal court, the county court, and the district court will be at the Broomfield Municipal Center. And, as you know, Broomfield's jail will entail much less driving time for Broomfield's police officers. This will enable police officers to spend more time patroling streets in Broomfield. Having all of these courts in Broomfield is also a benefit for Broomfield citizens. All of these court proceedings will be done in the City and County of Broomfield.

#7. Uniformity of Property Assessment Practices. All Colorado county assessors are supposed to assess property in accordance with applicable state laws. This does not alway happen. I previously noted that Sherdian Blvd is the dividing line between Boulder County and Adams County. Residents on both sides of Sheridian frequently compare their property assessment notices and question why, at times, there are significant differences. Another case in point involved the attempt by Boulder County to assess land on the basis of zoning rather than actual land use. This created a significant disparity in property assessments between Boulder County and Adams County. This matter was finally determined by the courts in a ruling that what Boulder County attempted to do was illegal.
With the City and County of Broomfield, property assessments will be conducted by a professional assessor in in a uniform manner for all of Broomfield accordance the the provisions of Colorado law.
