Manhattan Community Board No. 4 plays an important role in dealing with zoning matters, land use, the New York City budget (especially as it applies to our neighborhoods), municipal service delivery and many other matters relevant to the welfare of our neighborhoods.
There are 50 unsalaried members of the Board appointed by the Manhattan Borough President, half of whom are nominated by the City Council members representing Chelsea and Clinton. Board members are chosen from among active, involved people who live and/or work in either of the two neighborhoods.

The manager and staff are there to serve you and fulfill the mandates of the Board. They are willing, helpful and knowledgeable public servants to appreciate the opportunity to help.
The District Manager convenes monthly District Service Cabinet meetings where representatives of City agencies discuss local service delivery problems, formulate strategies to solve them, and monitor the implementation of these plans.
Call the Board Office to report a complaint and to receive monthly mailings or emailings including the newsletter, committee meeting schedule and agenda for the next full board meeting.

Community Board 4 serves the Chelsea and Clinton/Hell's Kitchen neighborhoods. Your Board plays an important role in many key decisions made in New York City.
Community Board 4 meets on the first Wednesday of each month, except during the summer. At these meetings members address issues of concern to the community.
Board meetings are open to the public, and the beginning of the meetings is reserved for short presentations by the public. You are urged to attend meetings and to sign in to speak on issues or problems which concern you. only boardmembers may vote on agenda items.
Committees of the Board meet once a month. A schedule of their meetings can be obtained from the Board Office at (212) 736-4536.
