I understanding why the bridge consultants didn't get back with me. Horizon 2030 (Proposed Kentucky Project Listing) has a 50 million dollar project for ''I-64 corridor improvements to consider alternative transportation modes as well as the addition of one travel lane in each direction between I-71 & I-264. If additional lane is added, intent would be to widen to inside.'' This can be accessed at www.kipda.org/transport/drafts/.asp on page 37 of the document.
Two years ago there was a super turnout for a meeting about this project at the Clifton Center. Our friends from Crescent Hill and Lexington Road were in mass. I think that's why the consideration of alternative transportation modes and to widen on the inside have been added. However, I have the view that those elements are the smoke that the hugemongeous downtown bridge, as the mirror, will pull a six lane I-64.
I suggest a multi-neighborhood meeting in the auditorium of the Clifton Center. KIPDA is willing to give a presentation and I'll pluck chickens. The KIPDA contact is Nedra Morrell at 266-6084.
Let me know your pleasure and I'll help.
