City of Spring Valley

HOA rules

Posted in: City Of Spring Valley
I am looking to rebuild my fence and cannot find any information on the types of materials that are allowed. Does anyone have a link to the HOA rules?

There is a Code of Regulations for the city of Spring Valley.  I have a copy somewhere and might be able to find it.   It might  cover things like height and placement (cannot extend toward the front of house beyond the front line of the house, etc.).    There are Deed Restrictions that spell out the requirements in more detail.  Deed restrictions take precedence over the Regulations and are inforced by Jefferson County, not the city of Spring Valley.  In Spring Valley, the deed restrictions may vary by Section.   The section you are in is probably on your deed (I'm too lazy to look).  Each section has their own set of deed restrictions;  I think there are 6 or more sections.   I'm in Section 3.   If you are on the edge of two sections, it might be that your fence has to be taller than 5 feet and your neighbor across the street has to have a fence lower than 5 feet.  I got a copy of Section 3 deed restrictions by going to the courthouse and spending a couple/four  hours.   It is a matter of searching huge old deed books.  It might be possible to go on line to the Jefferson County website and get this information.   I had to go downtown, because Section 3 Deed Restrictions had not been registered in the big book (s) that hold Deed Restrictions  (I ws told).  This required searching through other tomes.

Probably the surest thing to do is to rebuild your fence with similar classes of materials dimensions as present.

Good luck
