Many of us love to recycle, and we’re fortunate that our garbage service provides the ability to easily recycle large amounts of common household trash.  There are many other recycling opportunities in Louisville, and most of them are free.  Over the next few months, I’ll list the ones I’ve found.  Please add your favorites.
My 1st tip – don’t discard the shipping “popcorn” from your holiday deliveries.  Take it to the UPS store at Holiday Manor, and they will recycle it for free.

Don't throw batteries in the trash.  You can recycle batteries at Home Depot, etc.

Also, don't throw Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs) in the trash.

The EPA recommends that consumers take advantage of available local options for recycling CFLs, fluorescent bulbs and other bulbs that contain mercury, and all other household hazardous wastes, rather than disposing of them in regular household trash.

You can recycle CFLs (but not fullsize fluorescent bulbs) at Home Depot.
