Pool News

- Our Chevington Woods Pool has a new Pool Board. Continued on the other side?…?…..

Pool news continued?… This board has taken over the operation of the pool from long time pool Board members. Even though the pool is operated completely separately from the Civic Association, we feel as though the success of the pool enhances our property values. For Many years Dave and Susie Potter, Kate and Chuck Giller, Rick Tea, Lynn and Mike Dortch, Jill and Pete Ellwell served on the pool board. Many of their friends joined them each spring, spending literally hundreds of hours getting the pool ready for opening. Many thanks to these neighbors for their dedication and the sacrifice of their time to volunteer to operate and direct our neighborhood pool.

The New Pool Board members are, Steve Snider, president. Seth Bower, Vice President, Denny Fisher treasurer, Dana Bower, Secretary, Jan Knipple, Trish Riordan, membership, Madeline Auman, concessions, Susie Potter. There are four open positions on the pool board and volunteers are always appreciated.
The pool board is now accepting applications for pool manager, assistant manager, lifeguards and concession workers for the 2004 season. You may print an application from the pool web site address listed below. Those who have worked at the pool in the past are encouraged to apply in addition to new people.
This spring, starting in April, your neighbors who have volunteered to serve on the pool board and others will begin the task of opening the pool. They need additional volunteers to paint, fix and clean up starting when the weather breaks up until opening day. If you have carpentry, plumbing or electrical work skills, your help would be especially appreciated. Please consider donating a few hours of your time on a nice weekend to help open the pool this year as the pool could not survive without your generosity and labor! Times slots to work will be posted on the pool web site soon.
Membership information is included with this mailing. If you do not receive an application, or know someone who would like one, they will be available in the envelope on the pool gate at the beginning of April. You may also print a copy from the pool website at www.neighborhoodlink.com/org/chevingtonpool
