There is a Washington Flyer taxi that is routinely parked behind a townhouse on Benjamin Hill Lane, which violates the following:

A. Fairfax County Fire Lane law, and

B. Cedar Lakes prohibition against vehicles with logos.

I'm not sure what it takes to get this person (a renter) to stop commiting these violations, but it doesn't look like Armstrong Management plans to do anything. It doesn't look like the police care either, as I have seen cops drive by at least 3 times and do nothing. I'm sure it would be an easy ticket with a pretty stiff fine....

Oh well, guess I'll have to contact the Fire Marshal's office or Pat Herrity's office. Wish me luck...

Have you ever called the police to report the violation?

If you observe a vehicle illegally parked in a fire lane and you suspect it will be there for 30 minutes or more....  call 703-691-2131 and request an officer to respond.

The call taker will ask you for a description including the tag so having this handy is nice. Depending on how busy things are... it may take a while in the evening hours but they WILL show up and write a $50.00 ticket.

I have called about people with dead inspections in the past. The police have a letter on file from the HOA giving them permission to enforce violations on the property.

You may also want to tip off the towing company. I have seen them on the property several times and towing cars in the fire lane.
