The position of the Metro Police

We of the neighborhood have ''kicked'' this problem around since the mid 19909's. The position of the police department, as far as I know, is that:
1. The offender must be contacted by
a neighbor. The neighbor must
then request the offender to move
the vehicle.
2. The police can then be con-
tacted. They will cite,the
vehicle, give a time limit,
and remove the vehicle, if
necessary. That is the law.

Check with Metro Police. We, as individuals must act for ourselves in this issue. This problem will be discussed at the next meeting in September

Parking

I believe this issue was addressed at the August meeting, since the commander of the 3rd district was the guest speaker. I also believe that Bob was right in his explanation of the solving the problem. We as residents of this subdivison have to take care of these type of complaints ourselves.

Respect-O-Meter: Active Neighbor

I must say, I have somewhat of another oppinion.  First, I would like to see some statistics on any problems being caused by SOME street parking.  I know there are safety issues with wrecks and children playing, but again how much of an issue are theses??  Some of us must sometimes park on the streets.  Some may have several cars for one home and don't expect these people to park in their yard.  Also, there might be company or a gathering at a particular home!  Someone might be doing some type of long term work on their home, forcing them to park on the street.  Anyway, I do think it's up to the individual situation.  If someone is  constently parking on the street and have plenty of driveway and no apperent reason, then any neighbor this is causing a problem for should approach that neighbor and agree on a mutual solution.  This should not be a police matter!!
