LouMetro/LMPD has an interactive feature on their website with which crime may be tracked around an address.  It is updated every day or so.

www.lojic.org/crime/viewer.htm

After an address is entered, make sure that the "Crime Level" layer is selected (at the bottom of the screen) so that the desired data is implemented.

Stay informed.

Additionally, the "Block Watch Tips 2011" handout, passed out to all residents by their captains, has been loaded here on the main page.

Thank you Kim for the information that you posted for our residents. It should also be noted that when you go to this website you can move the map around to show any crime reported to LMPD in and around the City of Woodlawn Park.

On another matter pertaining to the above information from Kim Horn, a neighbor called yesterday and stated that she noticed that one of our residents had at least fourt (4) newspapers on her porch, plus it appeared that the mailbox was overflowing with mail. The newspapers and mail was picked up, and the residents son in California was notified via email that his mothers's home was being looked after while she was gone.

If you are going to be gone for several days please stop your newspaper and mail and/or notify

your neighbors you are going to be away for a period of time and ask them to pickup your mail and newspaper. If you wish contact your local law enforcement authorities, Woodlawn Park Police and/or Louisville Metro. Police Department and they will do a House Watch while you are gone.

Since we are on the subject of crime, at our last council meeting on June 20, 2011 Councilwoman Becky Ritz informed the Council that a resident called and reported that someone had put Graffitti on the wall behind the Woodlawn Center.  The owners of the Center have been notified and they are going to have the Graffitti/Artwork removed.

The represenatives of the Center were advised to notify the Saint Matthews Police about the Vandalism and possible connections with any Gang activity  in the area.

For are residents who live across from the wall behind the Woodlawn Center if you see any illegal or suspicous activity call the Police.
