The tree service that has been on Green Meadow Circle, "Rife's Tree Service" (Ohio) for the past week and a half, who initially called them?  Were they contracted by a resident and then found other work while in the neighborhood?  Or is something else at play?

A cursory internet search satisfied my curiosity.

After watching them for a week and marveling at their lack of safety equipment and/or protocol, they tipped their hand when, after ringing our doorbell and offering to remove a tree, they did the hard-sell on our elderly neighbor, who is not capable of making decisions concerning thousands of dollars (in cash) for himself.  I listened to them assure him that the tree abatement was in fact, necessary.  After that, the man in charge could be seen trolling the neighborhood for hours.

Their m.o. seems to suggest that this is par for the course.

Apathy will get one no where and it just might get your neighbors, who are not capable of making wise choices, taken.  Although, it might one a good deal.

Woodlawn Park is an ordinace-enforced city.  I suggest we become more diligent in enforcing those ordinances.  Measures should be put in place to prevent this from happening again.

Apathy has its consequences.

An interesting read:

sounds exactly like Woodlawn Park.

I also found it amusing that they were allowed to leave a 25' tree trimming truck parked on Green Meadow Court overnight (13 hours by my count), blocking the corner to turn onto Green Meadow Court from the circle. We're quick to jump on residents for parking on the street, what makes this different?

I noticed a second out-of-state tree service working the "Circle" the last two days.  I'm not saying they're shady but please be aware.  There are a lot of tree services in the Louisville area, looks a little questionable when we start seeing out-of-state companies going door-to-door to drum up business.
