I want to reinforce the concern made earlier about the traffic guard at Walden School, who is, indeed, making a difficult situation much more difficult, and at times, hazardous. He will stop twenty cars to let one car out. Some mornings there is simply no way I could every get onto Wesport Rd. (from Perryman) if not for the generosity of other drivers.

I talked to the guard the other day. He is very pleasant but assures me he is just doing his job as it has been directed to him to do. The school does not want parents to have to wait when dropping off or picking up kids. Bad for business. I'm sure the rationalization would be safety for the children.

Let's talk about late afternoon traffic as well- many days between 4pm and 6pm traffic is stopped on Westport Road near the Beechwood/Windy Hills intersection. This is causing traffic to back up. When someone wants to exit Woodlawn Park heading West it is very diffcult to see beyond the East bound traffic. There have been afternoons where I would simply choose to exit east in lieu of having an accident.

Of course, this past week, it did not seem as bad as for the last 2 weeks. But, I do think everyone should be very cautious when exiting our City.

Certainly one reason that I'm glad to see the road being built, since a traffic guard at Waldon will not be allowed on a 5 lane state highway.  All those picking up kids will need to learn to make right hand turns out of the school parking lot. So hope the Waldon official inform their clients to expect this change. 

Its actually WaldEN woodman and if you ever drive down by plantation during school hours they have a traffic guard there as well.  Unless you know a KRS that no one is aware of i'd say the guard will continue for the foreseeable future.   I do agree however that it has made the commute worse.
