So, if there was such great concern over this by you, why didn't you call the metro police or the mayor.  What I saw was just a distribution of sales information or the solicitation of services which may have violated the ordinance against such things or may be not since they weren't asking for money. If they are casing out the joint, call the block watch captains in the city directory.  In all fairness then,  if you don't want anyone in the city doing anything door to door, then the riff raff that rides around in fire trucks, tromping all over the lawns and asking for a donation to be placed in a stinking boot, or school fund raisers, the boy scouts soliciting for dare to care canned foods and just where are the girl scout cookie sellers this year? Yes, some solicitation door hangers maybe unwanted, but most of the door to door activity is just the kind of riff raff I like around. The kind that shows community support.  As far as the door hanger I got, it made it's way to the circular file.

I talked with several of the youth and was told that they were from a church and that they were hanging the adds/coupons to raise money. My experience was that they were respectful and polite, but a bit loud... having a good time.

Several years ago, a group of young men came through selling magazines to raise money for their baseball team to go somewhere for a tournament. When one asked me which neighbors were home during the day and  which were not so they could better coordinate their efforts, I became suspicious. Then later that day when I found one in my back yard, I let him meet my two +100lb dogs and called the police. It turns out they were a part of a traveling "gang" that robbed houses, or so I was told by an officer. Point is, it's prudent to be careful and on your toes.

This is the pot calling the kettle black (but I'm working on it), and I don't mean to escalate the discussion, (yes I do, or I wouldn't write this) but what gives with the attitude towards Rufus1? He's just making a comment here. Nothing wrong with a little civility folks, even when your using names that keep you anonymous. (Disclosure: I know Rufus1. He's a good, decent person, who I definitely would not want mad at me).

I am glad that there are neighbors who notice when things look a little out of place .A few times there have been cars parked on the street near my house that I did not know and they just stay there for a long while. So once or twice a  friend and I went out to ask if they were lost ,It turned out that they were lost looking for certain house number, thats what I was told.I have not seen those cars again. So its good to ask sometimes. If they are looking to rob someone they know they are being watched too.It was during the day, I would never go up to a car I did not know at night. So it is a good thing to be on your toes!!

Did not mean to start such a disturbance.   Just looking out for the best interest of the neighborhood.  If W.P. likes having everyone and their brother come through the neighborhood to do as they please then enjoy.  As others have said be on your toes.  Peace and love to all.
