As a long time resident of this subdivision and previously a subdivision with the same issues, I just want to add my opinion.

First of all our children do have to use the street to walk. I have to use the street to walk. Too many times I have seen unresponsible people driving way to fast on these streets. In the winter people do not take the responsibility to shovel the snow on the sidewalks. How else are our children to get to the bus stop?

Anyone who wants to make excuses for the drivers who are in the wrong must be one of those drivers.

I urge all residents to make sure if they see a car driving too fast to make them aware they are doing so.

For whatever reason a dog was in the street, the person driving was not paying attention, and going way too fast to stop and avoid the incident.

Did you see it ?

The accident ? Did you ever consider the possibilty that the dog was chasing the car and got caught under the wheel ?
That happens all the time. Dogs chase cars, it's nothing new. I know people speed through here and I've spoken to a couple of people about that before, but to assume that it was all the drivers fault, is pretty narrow minded. Also, it's one thing to walk in the street and another to have kids playing in the street.

That is very true. This just proves one thing, that people will not take responsibilty for there own actions. The one poster said that we don't have sidewalks. Well, why do you think it's safe to let your kids play in the street, but too dangerous to let them walk in the street, to the bus stop ?

The Point Well Missed

The point here is that people drive fast and stupid through this subdivision. Not kids playing. They are the potential result of stupid ass drivers. I guarantee that if you are driving 25 or less, you will never hit and hurt a child unless they run right into you. That is the point. Do whatever you can to stop the a hole drivers that fly down our streets.
