I got the notice in July.  I was not able to attend.

I was contacted by my Area Captain and Block Captain about three weeks ago.  They explained how Neighborhood Watch works.  They emphasized the importance of being aware and the reporting of accurate details.  I like it.  I gave them my cell number so that I can receive alerts immediately.  I entered their cell numbers into my contact list so I can send  alerts to them immediately after I call 911. I also agreed to contact my neighbors on each side of me.

Sometimes I do not get home until 2:00 am.  I will watch for "stuff going on" as I drive through on the way home.  I appreciate the work the Watch leaders are doing and I am glad to help.  It would be good if everyone would help.  A chain is no stronger than its weakest link.  Amen?  Amen!

Your comments indicated that Neighborhood Watch is taking shape.  Favorable acceptance and resident participation are the keys to success rather than baseless criticism just for the sake of making waves. 

And to BellemeadeNeigh who first registered and posted on 12-21-11:  the mayor and I are still waiting for you contact either or both of us. Four days ago you complained that nobody had contacted you, that you didn't even know there were block captains, and that you wanted to know who your block captain is.  Mayor Odom-Groh and I both posted contact email addresses for your convenience, but so far you have not followed through - I certainly hope you were sincere and not just "playing games," because this is far too important a project for games.

I got back from vacation late last night (12/23).  Did not read the posts until today.  Checked car in driveway today and it had been broken in to.  They took the change and that's all.  We never lock our cars so no windows were broken. 

I will report to block watch person, but will wait until Monday.  I do not think that I should bother them on Christmas and it is old news now that so much time has passed.

Thank you for sharing this.  Even though though it is "old" news, it is still important to let others know.  It would be good to also report it to the police.
