WE MISSED NOT PARTICIPATING.....

ALSO I WANTED TO MENTION THAT AT THE ANNUAL PARTY, I THINK RESIDENTS SHOULD CONTRIBUTE FOR THEIR FAMILYS WITH REGARD TO FOOD AND DRINK, EVERYONE CAN BRING WHAT THEY WANT POTLUCK PER SAY  , PARENTS WITH KIDS CAN CHIP AND BUY THAT EXPENSIVE BLOW UP WATER THING.....I JUST DONT THINK OUR BUDGET CAN TAKE HAVING A PARTY & THE RELATED EXPENSE SO FEW FAMILYS AND EVERY KID WITHIN A MILE . SUCH A GRAVE EXPENDITURE SHOULD BE VOTED ON, DO WE VOTE LIKE  THAT PAUL?

Miko, I'm sure this and parties have been on everyone's mind at one time or another here. Problem is like everything else, you need people who can find the time to coordinate stuff. I'm up to my gills right now with everything I'm trying to do. I started a newsletter last year but never got back to a second edit. I can't seem to find time to get back to it. If we had someone that all they did was the newsletter I'm sure we could see more stuff done. No, no vote has to be taken on garage sales or parties. I will tell you that parties in the past had been paid for out of the homeowner's dues but it should never have been in my opinion. Dues are for maintenance only. I have heard complaints in the past that resident's dues were being used for parties and they did not attend and didn't want to attend. They wanted to see more done with the common areas, like nice annual plantings at the front of the entranceways as has been done in the past. This is on my mind now. I'd like to see regular annual plantings, some nice colors in our entranceways too. Sure, I like a party but we have to do this another way now, not like in the past.

We need to find some residents or a resident who can find the time to chair this committee. It can be a one person committed, it doesn't matter. But, this person or committee has to set dates, organize vendors for the blow ups or water toys and somehow generate funds to pay for it all. From what I understand, it costs around $500 to have a community party with the blow up jump house and the water slide. Not to mention the hot dogs and hamburgers and drinks. Did you know that we were short money from the last event and a resident had to chip in to pay for the balance?

A newsletter could generate ads from any number of businesses in our area. But, we need someone who can find the time to go out and find this and then do the layout, the printing and copying and then the mailing or hand delivering.

I walked around door to door last year putting a meeting notice on everyone's door. It took me just about an hour. It went quick I thought. But, I don't know that I can do this every time it's needed.

What are you willing to do? Do you know anyone that can write a newsletter and welcome input and suggestions? It has to be somone that will gather the news from what's going on in Bella Vista, attend meetings or interview board members and the management company. I'd like to see a regular newsletter myself.

Okay, comments are welcome by anyone here. Chime in!

Paul, I as well as several other home owners appreciate the time you dedicate to our community. I do hope that as our President you reconsider having this expensive party ($1,000. estimate once food/drinks are added to the expensive $500 blow ups) those funds would be better spent on the appearance of our community as that would be enough to plant and replant the front entrance a few times throughout the year. Also, that harsh activity (party/blowups) on the front entrance grass only worsens the look/condition. Just my thought. I totally agree with Miko!
