Thank you for your great comment. I really like this. There are not too many persons who want to run for this office here. These directors just want to save money for the courts of law and not to spend too much money in here,Gateway Ct. This year  they added a new drainage system in the court yard behind mine I hope it is doing its job.

My court yard needs a new drainage system for the flooding walks from  this badly needed rain from our  drought  this year.

In 2007 I think, in our Annual Statement, we lost over  $7,000. These directors had me,  another  tenant and this business - R. & R. Auto Fleet Service in court back to back to back for several years. The directors do not like to send my copy of the Annual Statement to me and I have no idea why.

They sued me wrongly and I am getting help for this. The R. & R. Auto Fleet Svc. people spent over $20,000 in the courts against  the directors who just sued them for them just moving into the building. These people did nothing wrong. These board of directors sue for anything, right or wrong. They like to step on the innocent toes of Righteous America.

I have had teens throw rocks at me, they have tried to flatten my tires and I have found out what they used and called the police many times. I have had my van vandalized 5 weeks in a row here last Nov. 2009 and I know who will be paying for all my damages. This is grand theft for something I have done to no one.

More later, have a good day.

I can continue later it is rather late: 2:59a.m.

Thanks again for your comments.

Rita, how many people live in your development? I am assuming it is a condo association? How many people are on the board? Are there any vacancies? Do you know how long some of these directors have been serving on the board?

If I were you I would invest in a digital recorder and start attending all meetings. I would request an agenda and a copy of previous minutes at all meetings. You could also send a registered letter to the board and request a copy of all financial statements and minutes for as far back as you would like. Be prepared to be billed for the copies though at usually ten cents a piece.

It's time to get active. Don't stand aside and take it anymore. Get involved, show your interest, talk to any residents who you may come in contact with. Start making friends and invite them to come to the meetings with you. You might even offer to bring coffee and cookies to the meetings. Do you get where I'm coming from here?

There's a lot of history here and I'd like to know more. How was the $7,000 lost?

Get a petition going and collect signatures to get that drainage system installed. You might even go so far as to get a quote or two for the project and present it at a meeting.

Anyone can run for office, to be a director. You and R&R people might want to think about putting in your candicacy form for the next election, which might be coming up the first of the year. If your board is on staggered terms I'm sure there are some positions coming up for election. Put the word out that you are running, get the vote. Once you are on the board, sit back, listen, get involved, make your moves slowly, get support from other members who see things your way. And, get other residents to support you and get involved also. It just take patience. You'd be amazed at what you can accomplish with a little effort.

Keep me informed. I'll be your first supporter here. Cool

Does your association have a website? If so, what's the web address?

This is the web site that I used for Gateway West Townhouse Assoc. This place is not pretty, I made this their site and I do not know if they have seen it.

Here is the map of the area as there are 155 units. I tried to paste this map of all the units but it did not work.

If you email me - to email below I can give you a little more insite from my pc in an email and not here.

To see this place in  Google - insert this address - not mine: Gateway Ct., 3936 Gateway Ct., Indianapolis, IN 46254. This is located on the street area of High School and Gateway Dr. on the map in Google. Then go to: Gateway Ct. and Gateway Dr. on the Google map. Zoom in and you can see the long culdisack from front of Gateway Ct. and Gateway Dr. There is a creek at the back of the culdisack and a strip mall across the creek then you will see 38 St. in front of the strip mall in Google. The side road is High School  Rd.

Three persons on the board - STerns are husband and wife and the man who cleans this place up. Sterns and the cleaning man all 3 ganged up on my sis her son and myself this past May 2010 after we came back from driving around the Indy 500 track. I called 911 to get them off our backs. This is due that tape from the case they sued me for $7,120 I never made this pakistani owner lose any money. They have done everything to me as an owner and a handicap person having both hips replaced and using a cane, that they should not do.

You may contact me at my email if you like - rhhellmann2@sbcglobal.net.   I could explain more as emails can do more than this can.

I am adding the tags you do not have below in case you do not  recognize the newer tags.

I wish there were a vacancy for a total outsider to be director. These directors have been on the board since 1964 and they keep this place in that era - you know - the  60's.

They still use the marune barn siding paint in this 2000 era. Can you imagine. Their  brains are stuck in the 60's. Our  by-laws are not  on the net anywhere. I want to put them on but I do not know how much money it would take. I am on social security disability and as you know we did not get a raise this year or next year.

The petition would take a great deal of time and I have thought about it  10 years ago.

I will not run for  this place - this is a job too large for me to handle. There are a lot of drugs in here and I am tired of this also.

We  have section 8 housing people and some take care of the property and some do not.
Some have the property torn up within the year they moved in. Horrible.

The $7,000 was lost to the courts that these directors sued the R. & R. company wrongfully as they were just movin in the bldg. Our directors did not want them there due they are an automotive shop and the fumes were supposedly going to that court yard that is behind that bldg. where some little boy had asthma. I do not think he lived there all the time the R. & R. was there. Sterns had no right sueing that business as this is against Real Estate laws.

Sterns told my sis in 1990 to tell me not to move here. I think they saw her leave my door or something. She did not tell me this until a few years ago.  I wish she would have told me then as I could have done something about it. Now I have gone through 20 years of Sterns harassment, mental abuse, badgering me as a single  and well then and now a handicap since 1998. They even laugh at me if my van gets vandalized. They are very cruel and invasive!!!!!!

All the records are in their home and they say we can go to their house to see the records but I never have.

They do not tell us everything at times - you know the phrase: "Knowledge is Power". They are only the directors but they think they own the whole townhouse/condo association.

If they would spend the money they use in the courts of law here, this place would look super. But they cheat on us here to save the bucks for the courts.

After I moved here about 3 - 4 years, I played a game with the directors. When ever I asked the male director about fixing anything, he would always say: "next year".

Well, I played this game for 3 years to get some time behind this idea of mine.

Every year I would ask him if he could fix - whatever - and he would say his famous line: "Next year". To make this short: well on the third year - I asked him to fix something and he said his famous line: "Next year". I said, "wait", last year I asked you to fix something and you said: "Next year". I said: "This is next year". He did not say anything. I got him and silent at that. No one told me to do this as I just thought it on my own.  God helps me in many ways as he helps others in many ways.

You know the phrase: God gives you the verbal answers and you must do the manual labor to get that particular job finished.

More later. Rita -Kiss I hope you use the email above as the email can to more than this can do for any further info.
