I live in a townhouse area in Indianapolis and there is a tenant on sec.  8 and she brings her car to her door whenever she wants and her door is at the very end of the court yard opposite the parking lot. She leaves her car to her door over night. I have called the owner, and sent the directors emails and to date - nothing is done. I even sent this tenant the copy of the partial doc from the by-laws that states - we are not to bring vehicles in the court yard.

These directors lie about tenants and sue them then lie in the courts and try to defraud tenants for thousands for something tenants did not do then they put a lien on their property for something they did not do. We need new directors now.

Do you all know what to do next ??

yes some richer owners raised our  maint . fees. an extra $5 from $32 - $37 - not much but it is a little more when you are on social security disability. I was not at the meeting when these owners raised the  fees.

We need this place cleaned up as well. Our directors would  rather spend thousands in the courts of law but not in our Gateway Court. I have been here since 1990 and I have asked the directors to do some things here and they put it off.

We need weeds cut in this fence row but year after year the weeds stay  on that fence row and I do not see any change.  This place is stagnant.

The rust color paint is still used for the sheds. This is 1963 color. Can you imagine. The by-laws are still in the typwriter mode and never redone on the computer and the director s have a computer .  The director cannot  live in the current day.

How do we hire a new director???  We  need one desperately, one that lives in this current day and not in 1963.

Thanks - good luck and Happy  Thanksgiving.

Rita, I understand exactly what you are going through. You see, many years ago I saw the same inactive board in my old neighborhood not doing anything but mow the grass. The shrubbery was slowly dying off and common walls needed painting and it fell on deaf ears when I complained. So, I decided to run for office. I was easily elected and it wasn't very long afterward that people began to listen to me and I made the motions to get proposals to get things done and the board voted unamomously to get the jobs done. You see, I found that sometimes a board will just want to sit back and rub nickels and not want to spend any money, thinking that's what the residents want no matter the few complaints they get. I ran our board as Treasurer for ten years and had things running like a top. It was a great experience and now I am in a different neighborhood and have been elected the President a year ago and am not making some inroads on getting things accomplished here too. So, get in there and get your hands dirty, find some support and you will see how easy it is too. Don't give up, with enough determination you can't lose.

Good luck and let me know how it goes. I'm always around here on this website.

I re-read this and noticed I typed 'not' instead of 'now'.

I am not from Bella Vista but live in 46254, Indiana. I think persons should be more involved in discussions to get all problems resolved as soon as possible. They must bring more issues out in the open like bringing gov. hidden spending  issues to get the corrected and stopped!!! You know, little things like this will help lower taxes etc. and bring more people together as one - We need more christian unity in this world that way it is now to make it a better place for all to live. Some one must take charge to bring truth to the light and let others see that WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR SOCIETY AND TURN THINGS AROUND FOR THE BETTER OF OUR COMMUNITIES.

I live in a place that does not want to have tenant meetings to get many important issues resolved that will make a huge difference in this place.
