"When the wife gets over a million dollars to lobby for something he will rule on, it seems like it might influence how he votes"

Hell, the Supreme court can potentially hear and rule on just about any subject in the universe.  Does that mean that their spouses cannot hold an honest job?

This "million dollars" was her total salary over quite a few years.  Evidently she was worth it.  When you make the undue influence charge, you are thinking like a democrat where that kind of thing comes naturally. Clarence Thomas has a great and honest reputation.  He admitted that he made a mistake in filing because he did not understand the requirements for reporting spouses income at that time.  I believe him because he is not a lying sneak liberal.  You know the kind.

Oh I don't know, in all our years of raising hogs, I don't think we made a million, at least as profits go and we certainly earned what we made. But Thomas does not hold this great and honorable reputation as stated. I always believed Anita and still do. Thomas is a letch and never should have been confirmed. His admissions of error are no excuse as those of any other potential liar. But a good conservative if one cares solely about that and race is a non-issue. It's too bad it wasn't a democrat so we could really get to the bottom of the matter. However, I have not been primed on this new development, so if true? there must be more to learn? Sorry mallory, I have to go with that for now.

I never believed Anita.

I don't believe Thomas is a letch.

I don't believe much of anything that Mal says.

Can we be done with the "believing" thing now?

I agree with you Anita Hill was right and she got some pretty shabby treatment from the Senate Judiciary committee.   Thomas should have never been confirmed.

I place a good share of the blame on Joe Biden.   I think he was the chair at the time.

It's true, Thomas failed to report his wife's income.   He checked the box on the reporting form "none".    Didn't understand or was confused about what "none" meant, he says.

The letter sums up most of what his problems are so far.   I think all true.   It's all public information.
