Foster Youth Employment Project

Project start date is August 9, 2007.

The mission of The Foster Youth Employment Project is as follows: Create meaningful permanent employment to enable foster youths, between the ages of 18-21, to become self-sufficient.

National statistics show that about 20,000 of these young adults leave the foster care system each year. Most of them are physically and mentally capable of working. However they end up on the streets or in homeless shelters because they lack income and/or job skills to become self-sufficient.

These are our children and they desperately need our help.

We already have what it takes to solve this problem. All we need is a national strategy and the necessary methods, tools and technique to mobile ourselves to take action.

The Foster Youth Employment Project contains all these elements. All we need is your participation.

Our initial short-term goal is to donate special revenue generating resources to foster care agencies with Independent Living Programs.

See next section below titled: The Fundraising Resources.

These resources will be used to provide additional operating revenue for the agency and employment for young adults in the independent living program.

The goal is to enable them to transition to full-time permanent employment (either self-employment or a position with a local employer).

Will you make the commitment to help by joining our team?

We look forward to your participation.

*** How-To Knowledge Products

The products listed above will include training guides for conducting the above How-To workshops as well as how to prepare authored materials for DVD publishing.

*** How-To Knowledge Board Games

These games are designed to develop and reinforce academic skills and vocational skills. They will be based on the products that we publish. The games can be played solo or in competition with 2 or more. In the future we will have industry sponsored games on a local, regional and national level.

All of these revenue generating resources will be marketed directly to community residents, businesses (large and small), community organizations, and schools. We will provide marketing materials such as flyers, catalogs, and scripts for direct marketing that can be copied and used.

These materials will be distributed by participating foster youths. By charging a reasonable fee for these workshops, products and services a much needed flow of how-to knowledge and financial capital will be generated.

*** Employment Opportunities

Mentoring Organizations

Our long term objective is to establish Endowment Funds worth $1 Million each under the management of five (5)organizations dedicated to mentoring and supporting foster youths. The proceeds from the endowment must be used to provide mentoring services either 1-on-1 or via DVD-Video products like the ones we will produce.

We hope to have each fund fully established within 5 years.

To be selected as a recipient of one of these endowments, we ask each organization to agree to work with us in the short-term by offering our special fundraising products and services to their mentors or membership.

The product, called the Role Model Knowledge Publishing Kit will be used to capture the mentor's guidance knowledge as well as a description of how s/he performs their job role.

This kit will be donated to each organization for sale to it's members.

The services we will provide are DVD-Video Publishing.

This service will be carried out by 21CCD along with our partner foster agencies and their young adults.

The Role Model Knowledge Publishing Kit and our DVD-Video publishing service will enable mentors to provide guidance and valuable knowledge to millions of youths around the country and around the world.

Your organization will earn a commission on the initial sale of each kit to your members, as well as continuous commissions on sales of the published DVD-Videos and related materials.

Mentors will earn a commission or royalty from all future sales of their published DVD-Video.

It will take about 3 weeks to produce and publish the final DVD and supporting materials after receivig the manuscript.

Your support for this project will enable thousands of foster youths to receive mentoring, learn valuable skills and become employed.

We look forward to your participation.

Thank you for your time.
