4:15 PM meeting called to order by Linda Thomas

Present: Carolyn Franklin, Anna Wooldridge, Jack Francis, Mary Garry, Pat Germany, Linda Thomas, Mary Rose Evans

  • MUW Funding/ other funding opportunities

    Distribution of MUW funding information request to Carmelita

    Applications to Ford, Kroger, Wal-Mart

    Response letter from Panera Bread Co – donation of brownies for 100 -see letter and advertising card to be displayed at the LCON annual meeting Jan. 12th, 2006


  • IRS 501(c)(3) status

    A list of questions and responses for the IRS shared with the board and a copy has been sent to Lisa Kilkelly at Legal Aid Society (Lisa has since let us know that she has spoken to the IRS representative and they gave an extension to get the info back to them by Nov. 23rd. Lisa will keep the board informed of her progress, and any need for further input.


  • Finance report

    A copy of the detailed operating budget has been submitted to Lisa Kilkelly for the IRS and below is our current finance report. All finance reports should be filed for future audits, and end of year reporting.

    Balance carried forward: $2,325.87
    Income: $11,808.00
    Total: $14,173.87
    Total expenses: $13,674.86
    Balance on hand: $459.01


  • Regular meeting for November 10, 2005

    Professor Ricky L. Jones at Western Library

    We will be on time with this meeting, as the library closes at 8:00PM

    All finance reports and minutes will be made available for members

    Questions will be requested from the audience – written would be most efficient use of our time


  • Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit

    November 12th Clarion Convention Center

    LCON volunteers are encouraged to wear the LCON t-shirts. Meet at 7:15PM at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center
    Sat Nov 12th.


  • Upcoming LCON elections

    A SLATE OF NOMINATIONS WILL BE PRESENTED BY THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE AT THE DEC 13TH MEETING AND AT THE JAN. 12TH, 2006 MEETING LCON MEMBERS CAN MAKE NOMINATIONS FROM THE FLOOR AND VOTES WILL BE CAST BY ALL ELIGIBLE LCON MEMBER REPERESENTATIVES AT THIS MEETING


  • Web team assignments / DBS disengagement

    Jack Francis is helping to coordinate Administrative web user team (Linda Carolyn, Jack), Web Content team ( Mary, Anna), and Web design ( Mary Rose Evans, Elizabeth Nelson) for the restructuring of the LCON Web site, which will point to the “neighborhood link” server. It has been suggested that a refresher course can be taken through Dept of Neighborhoods – Kelly Long.


  • December / January meetings

    In December we will have a community meal and networking with members bringing covered dishes, LCON will provide desserts and drinks only. In January we will have the officers sworn in and introduced. Job descriptions will be provided and short bios will be shared on each nominee.


  • Communication Materials

    We are researching the cost of a new brochure, stationary, and Anna will look into the cost of LCON.org stickers for the Mayor’s Summit this Saturday. LCON is donating a “Winter Care Basket” for the Summit, and Anna & Mary Rose will work on a give-away at the LCON information table.
