Last year we had a great turnout and we hope this year's party is just as great!

Last Year's (2002) Beach Party
The East Braintree Civic Association sponsored this year's beach party as a way to bring families and neighbors together and did they ever! The anticipation was that approximately 200 friends and families would show up at the party, which they and ..and so did at least another 300 friends and families.

The Chowder Fest was a big hit with Helen's Cafe in the Landing as the winner. But we do have to say that the race was extremely close...the Farragut House came in second by one vote and Giomatti's third by 3 votes (Jimbo's South cancelled at the last minute). The winner received a signed print of painting by acclaimed artist Don Carter. The story is of a remarkable police sergeant and artist who, like all of us, was deeply moved by the events of September 11th. But Sergeant Carter channeled his profound grief and created a piece of truly inspired art called "Remember", depicting the heroes of the tragedy...the firemen, the policemen and the rescue workers who toiled endlessly to save lives against all odds. The original painting was donated to New York Engine 1, Ladder 24.

T-Shirts were for sale, raffles, games and prizes for the children as well as documentation pertaining to the important issues facing East Braintree currently.
