KANDO (Kaul Avenue Neighborhood Development Organization)
MARCH 2009 RECAP

The meeting was held at the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center.
The Following is a recap of the KANDO meeting held on March 10, 2009.

Following the Agenda the President, Mike Link welcomed everyone.

Next on the Agenda was the planning of the Neighborhood Clean up.

We are again partnering with the Lighthouse Youth Center and clients of Cathy and Scott.

Everyone was reminded that it is scheduled for Saturday April 25th from 10:00 – 12:00pm and we will again meet at the property on the corner of 64th and Bobolink Ave.

Cheryl agreed to take care of grilling the hot dogs and Ron and Mike will be responsible for purchasing the food and beverages.

The dumpsters are ordered and the four locations were given.

Eighty coupons have been ordered and it was suggested that we state the coupons are given to the kids first.

150 garbage bags have been ordered.

It was noted that we will need gloves, sanitation wipes and/or soap, and paper towels/napkins.

Liz will make up a flyer, for the landlords to give to their tenants, and send it thru email.

Final planning will be done at the April meeting and thru email.

Next on the Agenda was an update on building the KANDO membership.

Liz passed out the invitations to the Landlord Conference and there was a short discussion on the number of RSVP’s and the planning to date.

Liz spoke of a couple of the new landlords in the neighborhood that she has been in contact with.

The final item on the Agenda was neighborhood issues and concerns and the following items were brought up:

Mike spoke of a couple buildings he has turned around and the higher quality of tenants that are renting from him.

District four is leading in homicides.

A number of problem properties and areas were discussed and information was passed along to the AGU Officers present at the meeting.
