Novelist

Michael Williams, a resident in this neighborhood for seven years, has published a dozen novels--seven, he claims, he will acknowledge. His first novel, WEASEL'S LUCK, has been translated into seven languages and was placed in nomination for the 1988 World Fantasy Award. In 1996, his novel ARCADY was nominated for the same award, and also for the Locus Award for the best fantasy novel of that year. Other titles include ALLAMANDA, GALEN BEKNIGHTED, THE OATH AND THE MEASURE, and the THIEF TO KING trilogy.
Michael is currently at work on a postmodern ghost story set in 1900 Louisville. He welcomes any correspondence from visitors to this site as to information or anecdotes about our city at the turn of the century.

Lecturer

Michael also teaches at the University of Louisville: he is a lecturer in the Division of Humanities, and has taught courses as diverse as Medieval Culture, 20th Century American Gothic, Modern Fantasy Literature, and survey classes on both Nineteenth and Twentieth Century European fiction.
He is available to lecture on these subjects, as well as on a number of issues related to the craft and practice of novel writing.
