Our Family

Wayne & Marian met and married in Nashville, Tennessee, but Wayne is a native of California and Marian is back home in her native Kentucky, originally from Paducah. They have lived in Louisville since October 2004.

What We Do

Wayne is a biomed equipment tech at Jewish Hospital.  He has served as Vice President of the Shawnee Neighborhood Association and on the District 5 Advisory Committee.

Marian is employed as a Commercial Lines technician at an independent insurance agency in Louisville.  She also is an options trader.  Marian has been a member of the Junior League of Louisville since 2005 and most recently served as Sustainer Advisor to their board of directors.  She is a co-captain of Alpha Block Watch.  In the past, she served as a member of the District 5 Crime Prevention Council, Shawnee Weed and Seed Steering Committee, District 5 Advisory Committee, 2nd Division COPS Board (Secretary) and interim Corresponding Secretary for the Shawnee Neighborhood Association in its first year.  She also was a member of the Community Advisory Group, which solicited community input on the Olmsted Parkway System in 2006.  Marian accquired her Master Gardeners certification in Tennessee in 2000, and in 2012 served along with two other neighbors as a co-manager of The People's Garden in Shawnee in its inaugural year.  She has been a member of Louisville Association of Insurance Professionals (LAIP) since 2010 and will be serving on its Board of Directors beginning in July 2013.  She is also pursuing a CISR designation and only has two more classes to successfully complete before acquiring that designation.

What We Like

We've been improving our 1925 home since 2003 and we're almost done!  We have a dog, a cat and four hens.   We walk our dog almost daily in our beautiful Shawnee Park.  Once in a while, we enjoy traveling and camping. Wayne's hobbies include watching a lot of the History Channel and his favorite sports are professional hockey, football and basketball (although Marian is training him to appreciate fine Kentucky collegiate basketball),  He also flies radio controlled planes and is experimenting with hydroponically grown vegetables.  Marian enjoys knitting, gardening, reading, writing and watching movies.
