Thank You

To the residents of Alexandria Neighborhood, I would first like to say 'Thank You' for the opportunity you have given me to serve. Also, to those able to make it to our first meeting, I appreciate your interest and support more than I can express. I am constantly overwhelmed by the positive response I am continuing to receive! However, don't feel left out if you weren't able to make it, there are still many key volunteer opportunities available as well as the growing need for program leaders in every interest. Our optimistic goal is 100% participation through volunteer and participant status. We cannot get there without your participation.

As far as the programs highlighted in this newsletter, if you feel your interests have not yet been met, hold on to your hat because we're just getting started! We will continue to initiate exciting, relevant programs, but felt it would be best to unveil a few at a time so they all have the best chance for success. Be assured, though, creating an atmosphere of community through neighborhood involvement is this association's driving force.

Additionally, you may already have had the chance to become familiar with your Block Captain. If not, you will see their names and street assignments listed so you can meet them and offer them any suggestions you feel will help get the association started in a positive and productive manner. You can see by the list that there are still a few streets available. The position includes welcoming new residents, organizing events for your block, distributing and collecting ballots, collecting dues, and relaying information about the association and/or board's actions, discussions, and desires. If you think you may be interested in becoming block captain of your street, please let me know. It is a great opportunity to serve our neighborhood.

Finally, I challenge you to take advantage of the association, to make it your own. Everyone participating is doing so on a volunteer basis in the interest of continuing to make our neighborhood a great place to live. We believe we can accomplish this goal as well as secure our financial investment by making Alexandria the most community driven neighborhood in College Station. I look very forward to meeting and socializing with everyone throughout this year. Thank you and God bless you.

Sincerely,
Christina Livingston,
2002 ANA Chairman
