Yorktown North Maintenance Association

Property value

Posted in: Yorktown N Maintenance
We have been living here in New England ct for many years. We've kept the rules of Yorktown north and kept our property looking good. We have not put buildings or eyesores in our yards, not even a clothes line. Behind our house and our neighbors home, the three neighbors behind us started putting yard sheds up. The first was small, just about over the fence. Two houses from him, a taller shed was put up with a truck topper sandwiched in between the shed and fence, and 4 dogs that bark and bark while the owner sets inside his house. Now, the third neighbor, who runs his buisness in his home, ( which I don't care, we all work ) but he just bought a prefab shed that directly behind our homes big enough to drive a Toyota truck into, sandwiched between his pool and fence?? We can now go outside on our patio and have a beautiful view of yard sheds and eyesores, instead of lawns, patios, trees and pools. If we decide to sell our homes, homebuyers are going to see the wonderful backyard view and go look at another house. When we moved here, after living in the country where people put anything in their yards and lower home values, we were so happy that this neighborhood had regulations so we could finally have a nice looking neighborhood, but why have you all allow these people to do this, and do you avoid confrontation? We read the rules and bylaws and have not crossed any boundaries. Why did you allow them to build these buildings in our backyard view? Does this mean we can build buildings and put anything in our yards too? I hope you understand this grievance, and if they want all these things in there yards, why did they move here. Very frustrated at Yorktown to allow this.
