Minutes for May 15, 2008

Jun 16, 2008

Present: Charles Owen, Martin Rothman, Bob Davison, Donnie Faulkner, Mark Osborn, Billy Vincent, Aaron Walters for Vicki Welch, Linda Duncan

Absent: Vicki Welch, alt. Aaron W., Murry Harral

Minutes for the April meeting were read and approved, as was the Treasurer's Report (Marty motioned; Bob Seconded; passed). As of April 25, 2008, there is a bank balance of $36,532.01.

Old Business:

Trees - P&R planted the trees we had approved at last month's meeting, reporting that we are still short about 20-25 trees along the highway. Using the up-graded, taller trees at $170 each, this should run an additional $5700 to finish off this section. Since Bob will be having our irrigation system turned on for the summer, the trees will get a good start. it was moved by Marty and seconded by Donnie that we go ahead and get these trees put in at approximately this cost. Motion passed.

Lake erosion issue - In response to our insistence that MSD is responsible for the water that is eroding our basin shoreline, Vicki met once again with Bud Shardein to discuss what MSD can do for us. We are on the summer schedule for having the inlet by the bridge re-done. Mr. Shardein agreed to meet with Vicki, and anyone else who could be there, and walk the shoreline for himself to assess where rip-rap could possibly be done to keep water from encroaching upon personal property. Vicki will make that appointment.

Mark reported that his niece who works for Wyatt said Wyatt, Tarrant, and Combs represent MSD, so we would need to contact a real estate attorney to advise us regarding MSD's state of obligation for the water erosion around the basins. We will wait for the meeting with Mr. Shardein before we consider further legal pursuits.

STOP and Speed limit signs - Donnie reported that J.C. Speagle is going to clean the STOP signs - ______________________________________________

New Business

Our No Trespassing sign waivers have been posted on both lakes. However, we must figure a way to stop the mo-peds from taking down our chain-link fence on the big ditch and riding onto our property. Billy is going to look into the cost of running a cable between the fence posts or the cost of purchasing a large rock to block the path through the fence posts. He will bring that info to the June meeting.

Sidewalk trimming - Marty suggested we have P&R mow along the sidewalks to both lakes. This area is not being kept by anyone else. Charles will do this. Also, Billy is going to call 311 and ask if LG&E can look at electric boxes sitting in water in front of people's houses.

Alert signs - Donnie moved and Bob seconded the motion to order two signs for the two entrances of our neighborhood, the cost of which is not to exceed $100, the signs alerting residents to call the Hotline number for further instructions in case of emergency. Motion passed. Linda will order the signs and bring them to the June meeting.

Adjourn: 8:35 p.m.
Next meeting - June 19 - Epiphany - 7:00 p.m.
