Sep 18, 2005

Present: Charles Owen, Vicki Welch, Martin Rothman, Mark Osborn, Tim Hardy, Bob Davison, Linda Duncan, Donnie Faulkner

Absent: Carol Kidd

The Minutes for August were read and approved (Tim, Vicki), as was the Treasurer's Report (Bob, Martin) which showed a bank balance of $51,623.48 as of August 24, 2005.

Old Business:

Muskrats - We will contract with a trapper next spring.

Fencing - Mark will continue to try to contact Penrod to get the new fence put in around one/third of the old lake.

Banners - According to Bob, these have been repaired and will be put up again after the sidewalks are poured along National Turnpike.

Streetlight - Tim reports that the new light at the end of Old North Church Rd. is now up and working.

Block Watch - Linda presented the up-dated log of events reported to police since August. Officers did not attend the last two BW meetings or this meeting tonight. At our October 6 BW meeting, we will make plans for Halloween. Linda will contact Maj. Wiley (3rd Division) and request officers present at that meeting and at our Annual Meeting October 15.

Lake rocking - Linda met with State Rep. Perry Clark and Councilman Weston at the lake. Perry recommends we contact LG&E and BellSouth to see if they would want to protect their easement by adding rock to the shoreline. If neither of these sees a need to rock, she is to get back to him to try another approach. Meanwhile, Linda will be talking with MSD about two urgent bad spots (sidewalk, bridge-site) and about the pumping station's appearance.

New Business:

Budget - Vicki presented a budget for '05-'06. Adjustments in money for streetcleaning, beautification, insurance, and fencing will be made and presented at the Annual Meeting.

Pull-A-Part's trees - The property is still being readied for Pull-A-Part's business site. The closing is expected to take place in October, at which time Pull-A-Part will have selected a landscaper to plant the trees they are providing us.

New lake's fence repair - Vicki will contact Jimmy Hickey and Gerald Ford to get estimates on the cost of repairing the existing fence there. The better price estimate will get the job.

Tree trimming and shrubbery trimming on old lake -Mark will ask P&R for an estimate on the cost of clearing shrubs and trimming trees around the old lake, and he will bring their proposal to the next meeting.

Landscaping schedule - Mark, Tim, Vicki, and Carol will get a schedule of work P&R will be doing on the landscaping of our entrance islands.

Temporary signs - Mark will contact Barry Sanders with the Highway Dept. to get temporary signs placed at Old Towne Rd. and Sam Drive.

Streetcleaning service - Donnie moved, Mark seconded the motion to discontinue our streetcleaning service for now and encourage residents to clean the street grates in front of their own properties.. Approved.

Newsletter - Linda recorded suggestions for what to include in our September newsletter and will pass these along to Carol, who will create the newsletter. Charles will duplicate the newsletter for distribution during the last weekend in September.
