Yorktown North Maintenance Association

Minutes for May 20, 2009

Jun 15, 2009

Present: Charles Owen, Vickie Welch, Martin Rothman, Bob Davison, Murry Harral, Mark Osborn, Linda Duncan, Donnie Faulkner, Billy Vincent

Absent None

Minutes were read, amended, and approved as was the Treasurer's report which showed a bank balance of $33,940.69 as of March. Murry moved; Martin seconded approval; all approved.

Old Business:

Murry noted that a correction of the April minutes needed to be made. In March, the Directors voted to give Murry permission to work on his boat in his driveway for one week. He finished work on the boat in two days.

One resident has not paid annual dues, and that person has already had a lien filed against the sale of the house, and if the dues aren't paid, there will be a forclosure on the house. The owner does not live in Louisville.

New Business:

It was reported that the house having the pickleball court experienced the dirt dropping in the backyard between the rip-rap and their fence. Vickie agreed to contact MSD to investigate.

Two houses on Sam Drive (512 and 514) removed fencing from around their pools and have not replaced the fences, which is a violation of a city ordinance. Linda will call IPL to investigate, we hope, before someone wanders into the unfenced pools and gets hurt.

The house at 215 Old Towne Rd. appears to be operating an auto repair business out of the garage there, with extra cars parked in the driveway and in the street. Linda will also report this to IPL for investigation.

Linda also agreed to contact Brightside's head of landscaping to get advice on what trees should be planted along the National Turnpike side of the front lake. Donna Michael, the lady from UK who looked at our trees and made verbal recommendations, never followed up with written recommendations.

Directors chose to have nine sections of fence replaced along Mr. Johns' property line, but Charles will be writing Mr. Johns a letter requesting that he remove other trees still close to the fence-line in order to avoid future damage to the Association's fence. Penrod will be contacted to repair the fence - again.

From the Hotline number, Marty reports that a message was left telling us that signs are missing at York River Rd., Old Towne and Puritan, and Old North Church Rd. Bob will look at this and take care of the replacements.

Lake Clean-up Day is scheduled for May 30 at 9:00 a.m. Charles will be preparing a newsletter announcing this event, along with announcing other news needed to be shared with residents. Charles will pick up supplies from the Brightside office on May 29. The alternative rain date is June 6.

Adjourned - 8:30 p.m.
Next meeting - June 20 - 7:00 p.m. - Epiphany.
