Neighborhood Safety

Posted in: Sage Creek Community News
I am curious if anyone has experienced any home breakins or attempted breakins in the area?

I spoke with my neighbor and someone tried to get into his house during the day last week but, thankfully his alarm apparently scared off the intruder. Last night, someone rang our doorbell about 4:55AM. My dog went crazy and I immediately went to the door but the person was gone. I don't know if it was a kid playing a prank or, someone with devious intentions scared off by the dog.

I was at the door within 15 seconds and did not see any headlights off in the distance or hear a car hauling butt away. Therefore, I would think the person may have been on foot.

Attempted Break In - Not Here

Jim spoke to the people with the attempted break in since they are our neighbors across the street. Jim was outside the day the owner came home because of a call from her alarm company. She told Jim that the alarm company had mixed up their Lake Home with their home here in Sage Creek. As far as we know there have been no recent attempted breakins in Sage Creek.
We have set it up with the police department that we are to be notified if there are any reported incidents in Sage Creek.

Make sure you notify your block captain so that they can let the other homeowners on your block know. There are alot of people that do not read the web site. Did the other homeowner call the police??
Clarification

Vicki,

After talking to our block captain, I found out the attempted burglary was at my neighbors lake house. Apparently the police showed up at his house in Sage Creek due to a mix up with the alarm company. I mis-understood him and thought it was his ''main house''.

In regards to the doorbell at 4:45AM, no, I did not call the police. I posted a similar thread on Wylie View and, someone else posted it happened to them in the area recently. Probably little punks with nothing better to do when school is out.
