We live at the end of a court and all the courts that back up together have open land in the middle. Kids (and adults) use this as a cut through. Which is fine with me until kids mess with my property. I have had objects thrown at my house our windows knocked on late at night. At what point do I say this is my property , ''stay off of it ''. I have (and my neighbor) have had to call the police on kids ''playing around''. This is not a joke to me, if they would busted a window or hit my car, god help them. What can we do about the cut throughs?

Cut Throughs

Hello...just joined the site when I saw this topic. I also have this problem and would like a response from our local government regarding suggestions. I live in the back part of a court and kids constantly cut through not only my yard, but two of my neighbor's yards as well. ALL 3 of us have told them to stop, but they continue. I find garbage in my yard all of the time that I know is not mine. It's getting ridiculous.

Privacy fence

I help manage condominiums on Baygarden Ct. We experienced an increase in foot traffic down the street and into the next subdivision (off Murphy Lane) when trees were cleared to build new condos. Before we built a 700' privacy fence in 2003, we had a constant stream of foot traffic at all hours and some related vandalism.

The fence deterred much of the trespassing but some determined young people manage to climb the fence anyway. There are some who are more inconsiderate and knock out pickets. We replace about 8 a month, and while it is quite annoying, it's all we can do. It at least sends the message that we are not going to back down.
