Wortham Oaks

Everyone in the Wortham Oaks Subdivision needs to go file a protest to their Home Owners taxes with the Bexar County Apprasial District downtown at 411 N. Frio Street, San Antonio, TX 78283-0248. Our taxes have gone through th roof this year and the taxing authorities can not defend their position as to why they have chosen to increase our property taxes to the levels they have spiked them to this year. I protested 8 properties this week and 7 of the 8 were reduced greatly and many of them returned to last years tax rate because the appraisers could not justify the valuation increase that was applied. The rate of $212,000 was decreased to $195,000. This does not affect the price you can sell your property for because they are only doing a drive-by comparison apprasial of the property. When you get ready to sell your home you will have a full blown appraisal conducted to determine the actual price you can command for your property the same way one was conducted by teh lender when you were trying to pruchase your home. In the meantime it behoves everyone to keep our property taxes as low as possible. Any increase today will be compounded in the years to come. GO PROTEST YOUR HOME TAXES TODAY>>>DON"T WAIT!!!
