Holiday Decorating

Oct 17, 2001

THIS IS THE START OF THE HOLIDAY SEASON . . .

Including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, and Kwanzaa as well as other special days that people like to celebrate. More and more people are decorating their homes to add to the celebrations.

Over the years, the Board of Directors has established rules regarding holiday decorations in an effort to allow homeowners to display their feelings of joy and faith while at the same time respecting the rights and beliefs of others, and preserving common elements in the community. These rules are based on our association documents including the following from our Rules and Regulations.
Christmas lights will not be permitted to be attached to the outside of any building unless the method of mounting is approved by the Board.

If you are planning to decorate this year, please follow these simple guidelines:

Holiday lights and decorations may be hung on fences as long as the decorations are not heavy enough to damage or apply unnecessary force upon the fence.

Decorations and light-hanging devices should not protrude. Hanging devices must be removed when the decorations are taken down. The last day to remove decorations is January 6th, 2002.

No decorations or lights may be hung from the building or roof. However, they may be displayed from the interior through the window(s).

Doors may be decorated as long as the decorations do not damage the door. (Consider fabric door hangers or decorations that can be connected to the door knocker.)
