possible scam alert

Posted in: Woodlawn Heights Taxpayers

I understand that a man has gone to several houses on E 239th this week, claiming to be from the power company and wanting to see and discuss meters, etc.  Of course, when asked for identification he claims not to have any.

Be aware.  Don't fall for something like this and let him in your home.

They were also on 237th Street.  They came twice. Once at 2 p.m. and again the same day at 7 p.m.  I told them we were not interested at the 2 p.m. trip and they returned that same day.  I tried to call the 47th after the 7 p.m. but could not reach anyone.  I am concerned because if they call to an elderly person, what harm would they do.   I cannot be home everyday to protect my mother.

Keep trying the 47.  They need to be informed of these attempts.  It's the only way we're going to get any action.
