Woodlawn Heights Taxpayers and Community Association, Inc.

Hi All:

There is an organization call The Toby Project which offers FREE spay/neuter services to TNR groups and neighborhood colony caretakers.  Do we have a TNR group in Woodlawn?  Should we start one?  Is there anyone else in Woodlawn interested in this?

Woodlawn was in the news a couple of years ago because someone was abusing stray cats in our neighborhood and more recently because someone was putting out poison!  It would be nice to be known as a community that would come together and try to help the cats.  We are not that large.  Encourage a spay/neuter van to come to Woodlawn once each year; I read we spent $250,000 for a dog run -- I say let's help the kitties out.

Yes we would help.

I seldom check this website but thank you for your reply.  The Toby Project serves the feral rescue community by offering free spay/neuter to Trap-Neuter-Return rescue groups (unfortunately, I'm not aware that Woodlawn has one).  Their coordinator is Robert Schmidt at tobyrescue@gmail.com.  

Perhaps a link could be added to the Taxpayers website for those neighbors who might be interested in knowing where to turn for help?  Alley Cat Allies also has a lot of information. Cats can get pregnant as young as 4 months and we do have a lot running around.  

Thank you for proving there is at least 1 other person in Woodlawn who feels as I do -- I feel quite alone in worrying about this so I appreciate another "voice".
