I have tried multiple times to get a hold of the builder who owns the clubhouse to no avail. Because of this, my husband and I have stopped paying our dues for awhile now. When the collection agency sent a letter I called them and let them know that I don't think this is a legal association. The lady I talked to said her company "would look into it" and send me a letter. Needless to say, I haven't received anything. I called them back a month later and I was told that the collection company called the builder to get some information about the legality of it all and last I know they were still waiting for the builder to get back to them. That was over 3 months ago. I talked to a collection agent and asked if I was going to be greeted by the duputys because I haven't paid by bill and I was told no and that I didn't have to do anything until they contacted me.

Has anyone else have trouble with this?

we have gritted our teeth and paid our dues.  I'm not sure on the accuracy of the list of expenses that they did send out a while ago.  it did seemed a bit far fetched to me on the amount they spend just on lawn mowing.  I do know that having association dues does provide for the pool and club house with out it, it could not be ran.  But that is really all that we are paying for and not sure why we had to pay extra money.  I also thought that we would have community meetings andsuch and I have not heard of or been apart of any and we have been here for 4 years.  I know a lot of people are upset but nobody really knows what to do.   I would be very interested to find out what happens with the collection agency.

There are supposed to be association meetings but I do not know who is in charge of it all.  I think that when we have the meetings that there is supposed to be a rep. there of some sort.  I thought that we would of had to vote on the new mail box coverings.  I think it unnecessary.  I really don't like them and feel it is a waist of money, especially when I am paying for it as well as others are too.  Maybe the lady at the front desk would know more about association meetings but who knows how much help she will be.
