We have a CB operator who is not only coming over our phone lines and computer
speakers which is totally annoying, but
it is so loud you cannot have a conversation with whomever has called you.
I have been told by him that this was to be stopped but it has not. I called various offices while this was happening
so they would hear it too. I have been given info on what to do but before acting on it I was wondering if there was a way to block it out. I have no interest in hearing how he is looking
for a midget or various other nonsense.

Although no license is required to operate a CB Radio, FCC Laws Part 95, Subpart D, which contains the FCC's rules for CB Radio operation, are still in effect. These rules cover CB Radio equipment, the ban on linear amplifiers, and the types of communications permitted on the air.
To hear what you are hearing whoever is transmitting must have a linear amplifier. There has been complaints like this before and it concerns an individual on your block. I believe he lives in a blue house near the middle of the block in the 400 block of 40th on the west side of the street. You may want to look around the house for a large antenna. You could look up the FCC website and see if you can locate a contact. Or call the Police District 3 Community Prosecution Team Officers and see if they can help in any way in that this is a nuisance. Their number is:935-7972.

CB neighbor

I know this might sound crazy, but have any of the neighbors effected by this gone and spoke to this person? I don't understand why the neighbors down here can not talk to each other and express a concern to each other. Instead they go to this site and bitch about something that could be taken care of face to face. The neighbor at hand who we speak of is a nice guy and I'm sure if his hobby was causing a problem he would try to fix it so it did not effect so many of you. WHy don't we try that instead of going to the Police with such non-sense.
