Windsor Forest NA

The Flashing Amber Light

Mar 03, 2009

With spring just around the corner, I have some very good news to report to the neighborhood. I believe I have contacted almost everybody in the Windsor Forest Association in the last month. As a result, have you noticed the increased patrol activity? We now have about twenty-seven active patrollers committed to patrol on a regular basis. We now also have a group of eleven members scheduled for the patrol class at Hefner station. Several members, including Joyce and myself, who were trained earlier, have recommitted to be more active in our WFNA patrolling.

With the economy the way it is, we all need to be more vigilant as to what is going on in the neighborhood. We have had several burglaries and car break-ins in the last several months. The only way to stop the rise in crime is for the little yellow flashing light to be more visible in the neighborhood. We all need to watch for suspicious activity, or persons who are acting in a suspicious nature. If you observe such activity, call 911 immediately and report it to the police. DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT confront these people, let the police do it. They are happy to respond and are trained to deal with these situations.

In closing, enjoy the coming warmer weather, and I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on Thursday March 19.
Bill Claflin, Patrol Captain
