CATS IN WILLOW PARK

Dec 17, 2003

Last month?’s newsletter mentioned dogs in our neighborhood. So that those of you who are cat lovers will not feel left out, I will talk a little about your pets too.

There has been little mention of cats at the HOA meetings. Cats don?’t spend their days barking in the back yard. You will not see many cats roaming our neighborhood off a leash. Or on a leash! In general cats have not been a substantive problem in Willow Park to date. At least they have not been a problem for the HOA?’s Board of Directors.

Willow Park is still somewhat of a rural community. We have an abundance of wild creatures living in and around our community. In the last few weeks eagles, owls, squirrels, snakes, rabbits, deer, fox, coyotes and a bobcat have all been spotted in Willow Park. The rabbits and deer may be dangerous to your plants and bushes, but they do not pose a threat to your kitties. The eagles, fox, owls, coyotes and bobcats all prey on small animals. Along with the snakes, squirrels, and rabbits, kitties may be a food source for these creatures. If you do love your cat, please don?’t let them stray far from your yard unattended, or your kitty may become prey to the more aggressive of our wild creatures.
