I have a part time job which involves The Pampered Chef. I am a consultant.
I know this forum is NOT to be used to advertise for personal gain but this time it is different. There is NO personal gain here except in pride in doing something for a great cause. I am holding a Fund-Raising event on Sunday, May 15th at The Valley Inn. Barb Orban has graciously volunteered to open The Valley Inn for that one afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
You will be able to come on in, see Pampered Chef products and place an order. There are also 4 special products that will only be available in May to also help the ''cause''. $1.00 from each of these 4 products goes to the American Cancer Society. On top of that, 15% of the days sales will also go to The American Cancer Society. Now, here is where the NOT FOR PERSONAL GAIN comes in. My commission, which is 25% of the days sales, will ALL go to the American Cancer Society as well. I have 10 specials reasons I am making a ''big deal'' about this. They are friends and relatives who have either gone through and survived and for one who did not. I feel very strongly about this cause. Help Whip Cancer is in it's 6th year. We as a company with the help of 76,000 consultants and millions of wonderful ''guests'', have raised over $3.5 million dollars to help fund Breast Cancer Research and Education. It's the best money ever spent. We all know someone who has been touched by breats cancer. Whether it be a friend, relative or yourself. Research is something that always needs to be ''Fed'' constantly. And as a special ''Thank you'' to all of you who participate and purchase products, you will get ''Help Whip Bucks'' toward food and/or drink at the Inn. We will also be drawing for several Pampered Chef Product door prizes. I could also use help for figuring out order totals and getting all customer info needed so they get their products when the products come in. I will have a treat for each ''helper'' as well.
So if you feel the urge to ''Help Whip Cancer'', come on in to the Inn on the 15th of May from 1 till 4 and bring all your friends!!!
Let's ''HELP WHIP CANCER'' TOGETHER AND WIN!!!!
Question

I really like what you are doing to aid cancer research. But I was wondering if the event you are having will be held at the same time the bar is open for business, or is this a private event just for your cause? Will alcohol be for sale or served during this time?
I only ask because this may keep some people away who for religious reasons, or others cannot, or will not enter a tavern.
Did you possibly consider asking to use the storefront on St. Paul?
It's much larger, and may have better suited your needs. Not looking for conflict, but it may have been a better location. Sometimes people are just reluctant to attend events in taverns.
Thanks for providing yoru contact info. maybe those who cannot attend your event can contact you that way.
I wish you every bit of luck and Thank You for you kindness!
Applaud Your Efforts! But...

I applaud your efforts but wish the event would have been at a different locale. I too would like to know if the event is being held during bar hours. This is why I have a problem right now, I witnessed 5 or 6 very intoxicated men come out the local bar after sometime after the ball game yesterday, they were extremely drunk and loud. It was a bad reflection on the bar which is usually quiet. Lately I also have a problem with the extremely loud motorcycle(s) that you can hear coming and going from the bar, sometimes later at night. You can hear it all the way up here! Just because these people do not live here they should have some respect for those that do.

I hope they get it under control before all our windows are open on a regular time.

Patron Witness

I was a patron in the said bar after the game and witnessed the five drunk men , which stopped for a pizza and where not served anymore. The five men where also driven out of the Valley by their designated driver.I also witnessed many drunk people walking around the neighborhood after the brewers game.As for the motorcycles in the neighborhood, If you where to walk around the Valley you would notice several own motorcycles, some of which stop at the said bar but not all of them.So why is the bar always getting the bad wrap for everything that happens within a few block area.If you have a problem in the future maybe you should call the bar and let them know that you have witnessed these activities and see if they could correct them.
