I was asked to put a link on the page about a on line yard sale that someone is doing that is in our subdivision.

Hi Everyone! My name is Donna and I live in the Waverly Farms area. There are several online groups that can help families every day and they are great for the community! These groups are yahoo based unfortunately as some dislike yahoo (including my family and I). I was the person who asked if I could post 2 links to help the community. One was the Millington Freecycle group which I am the co owner of the group and most freecycle groups are run through freecycle.org The other group which I just started Millington4Sale was created by me so that residents in Millington and other surrounding area's could also have a group that they can sell, buy, trade, swap things at. And it's free to join and free to list at these groups. It's like having a yard sale but you don't have to clean the entire garage or carport and sit in the hot garage just to sell an item or two, you just list items from your computer. It's also a great way to let others know that there is a garage sale or a community garage sale in the area! I also co own SCOGS (Shelby County Online Garage Sale) group which has over 1,300 members at the group. I also moderate for MemphisChicksYardSale group which has over 750 members. When you post at these online garage/yard sale groups that you are having a yard sale, or there will be a community yard sale...it's free advertisement and it brings ALOT more people to your garage sale. Say your Water Heater goes out in your home or your A/C unit... Those both cost over $500.00 new, there could be a member on one of these groups that has one for sale. Last winter a gal found a water heater for only $50.00 and there wasn't a thing wrong with it the family had built a new home. A few months ago I sold a Queen size mattress, box spring and metal framing for $75.00 and I helped a family that needed a bed for her elderly mother that needed to move in with them. A great way to find school clothes, back packs, boats, cars, trucks, furniture, appliances. You might be looking to buy or you want to sell things. But we keep things out of the landfill, now adays things are so expensive why not look and see if you can buy it for less. Or make a few extra dollars by selling things. Another example: right now I have 3 venician blinds for sale brand new, 2 never opened and still in the box, and one I took out of the box and it was the wrong size and I'm selling the 3 for $10.00 Over the last 4 years these online groups have helped my family, they could help your family too.
