What is your opinion of the proposal by the Board of Directors to prohibit overnight parking in the streets?

The board has made this proposal out of concern for the safety of the residents. When cars are parked in the streets, especially when cars are parked on both sides of the street, it makes it very difficult for other traffic to get through. This could be especially dangerous for emergency vehicles.

It should be noted that the Monticello subdivision prohibits ANY parking on the street at ALL times.

New Parking Proposal Comment

I agree 100% with the proposal. I think that it will give the subdivision a cleaner look as well as help with safety issues. Although, in my case, overnight parking is not the only issue. I have a neighbor that has decided to purchase a semi truck and leaves it parked on the street at all times which takes up a majority of the street width. I haven't figured out if this person actually uses this vehicle for work or just bought for the fun of it because it is always there day or night. I would like to see a proposal that prohibits the parking of large vehicles, such as semi trucks, on the street at any time.

I'm glad I read the first reply post. Before that I was one sided, con. A semi is to the extreme.

To this, ''It should be noted that the Monticello subdivision prohibits ANY parking on the street at ALL times.'' Monticello homes have doublewide driveways and or garages. I have a single wide driveway and no garage. Is Watterson Woods going to build a new drive way and garage for me? What are large multi vehicle families to do? This ''Proposal'' is unfair to ''All'' Watterson Woods residents and should be thought through very carefully.
