Letter to Hatcher's about Lake

Dear Mr. Hatcher,

We are writing to inquire about the status of the dam repair and lake restoration behind our home. We understood when the lake was drained last April that the repair/restoration process would take about 1 year to complete. We were not happy about this news, especially since we were never fore-warned.

It would have been nice to hear from you directly regarding this matter. Instead, we have heard from the HOA, neighbors, Clayton County, and inspectors from the Safe Dams Program. Here it is 11 months later and absolutely no progress is apparent. For the past 11 months we have not been able to enjoy the beautiful lake front property that we paid extra money for 31/2 years ago. In fact, in the past 11 months we have had to deal with a foul smell, horrid swamp like views, the absence of the lake inhabitants ie. ducks, turtles, fish etc, the inability to use our boat, go fishing, host beautiful backyard parties, vehicles playing in the swamp and getting stuck for days, and a huge decrease in the desireablity and perceived value of our home. Pictures are available.

Please inform us in writing, within 10 business days of this letter, your intentions and real time line regarding the completion of the dam repair and lake restoration. It would be wonderful to enjoy the lake again this Spring. Thanks.

Regards,

Mr. and Mrs. Sanks
