No, aliens have not landed in the NW corner of the park, the Parks Dept. tried out a new weed killer and used too much of it on a very large area before discovering that it also kills grass.

Normally, the parks department does an excellent job of keeping the park green, dispite a bit of water waste. Oops. It doesn't look like it is coming back very quickly either.
