South High School Celebrates Success

South High School?’s JROTC students captured the JROTC State Rifle Championship in Pueblo, making this the fifth year in a row they
have been the Colorado state champions! South also won the Centennial
Marksmanship Trophy for the ninth year in a row. The award is given to the
school with the best performance in the Denver JROTC Brigade in Rifle
Marksmanship. Congratulations also go to South High dance instructor Marcia Small for receiving the Award for Outstanding Dance Educator from the U.S. Central District Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
South High School ended the fall season on a high note, with three players
making the All-Colorado team. Steve Zipprich was selected to the 1st team
and Roger Espinosa was selected to the honorable mention team for soccer.
Calais Campbell and Patrick Ealy were selected to the 1st team All-Colorado
for football. And Patrick was named by the district as the outstanding
